Our story

Anat Stein and Hadas Kruk are the designers behind Armadillo - Judaica lovers. Based in Tel Aviv, Armadillo's work is a reflection of the vibrant cultural scene in Israel, while staying connected to worldwide design trends.  Our designs are made in our studio, with select components crafted by specialized workshops across Israel. We can proudly tag all items "Handmade in Israel"

Our work reflects who we are. We are deeply curious about roots, culture, holidays, traditions, food, and the essence of Jewish life. Our creative inspiration is a mix of what we love in design: the simplicity of Origami, geometry and mathematics; the playfulness of games and puzzles; and of course, modernism – a design era we adore. Jewish practice is filled with objects that fulfill rituals and Mitzvot. While Judaism is often considered rigid, we challenge this notion by reimagining these ceremonies as design briefs, open to interpretation with a lot of creative freedom.

As secular women in modern Israel, choosing how to express our Jewish identity is a statement. We rethink Jewish ceremonial items with modern design methods in mind, advocating to align with universal values of humanity, innovation, playfulness, freedom, love, and hope.
